Academic Work is on behalf of our client Husqvarna Group looking for several ambitious individuals for a young talent program. The program will give you as a newly graduated engineer the opportunity to start off your career with the long-term ambition to become a core member in one of the agile teams in Husqvarna Group.

This recruitment process is conducted by Academic Work and the request from Husqvarna Group is that all questions regarding the position are handled by Academic Work.

This is a staffing assignment, which means that you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant for Husqvarna Group. Husqvarna Group’s long term intention is to employ you directly by them, provided that the cooperation outcome of the program is successful for all parties. The program will last for 12 months.


The young talent program is aimed towards those who want to take part in Husqvarna's journey into connected products (Internet of Things). The Digital Services & Solutions department (DSS) is characterized by innovative thinking and innovation in order to improve the customer experience with Husqvarna's products using digital services. They have gone from about 20 to 50 employees over a period of 1 and 1/2 years, which says a lot about the expansive phase they are in. You will be part of the daily business as you go through internal and external education. During the talent program you will also be coached by your consultant manager and get the support of a mentor, all in order to give you the best prerequisites to develop in your role.

Depending on your interest and background, you can focus on one of the following areas:

  • App development in iOS and/or Android.

  • Backend development in JAVA and/or Python.

  • Azure/Amazon cloud specialist.

  • Data scientist - To be relevant for this role it is required to have mathematical background, technical competence and analytical thinking.

Please specify in your application which focus you are most interested in. If you find a greater interest in one of the other areas during the young talent program, you may be able to change area.

The department is characterized by a consistent team spirit and collaboration to create new visions and ideas in a humble, creative and international environment. You will work according to agile methodology along with 6-8 coworkers in a squad (Scrum team). The squads are self-organizing and distributes their work on their own. In addition, each squad has an overall responsibility for one or more digital services and is responsible for its life cycle from start to finish (devOps). Husqvarna already have many successful products and are now in the initial phase of digital development. Here you will have the opportunity to work with the latest in technology, be involved and make an impact as well as to work with something that makes a difference!


  • have a Master of science in IT or a degree in mathematics combined with technical skills

  • have proficient knowledge in any of the following: JAVA, Python, Azure and/or Amazon cloud services, iOS and/or Android development or good analytical ability if you are looking for the role of data scientist

  • have excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, since it is required for the work. If you’re also knowledgeable in Swedish it will be to your advantage.

As a person, you are curious and initiating. As the contact areas are wide, both within your team and towards other departments, it places high demands on your cooperation and communication skills. You are comfortable with a challenging role where you can take responsibility and have the opportunity to share your knowledge with others. If you are also analytical and solution oriented you will feel right at home at this department. Furthermore, you are a person driven by working with the latest technology as well as being able to be creative in your work.


  • Start: January 2018.

  • Work extent: Full time, on-going with a probationary period of 6 months. The young talent program will last for 12 months.
